ABOUT ME

Emerson Drewes (she/her) is a dedicated news reporter who has worked extensively with communities in the West. She currently serves as the editor-in-chief of her college publication, The Nevada Sagebrush. Through her work at the Sagebrush, Drewes has acquired professional internship experiences at top media organizations in their business sections: Las Vegas Review-Journal and Los Angeles Times. She has been awarded for her articles and has accumulated many scholarships for her academics and work in journalism.


Drewes is currently a senior at the University of Nevada, Reno majoring in journalism with an emphasis in news, broadcast and documentary and a minor in communications. Her expected graduation date is Spring 2024.
